“Teaching at E. D. White was not always something that was in my life plan. As a 2008 graduate of E. D. White, I quickly noticed a difference between myself and some of my fellow engineering students in terms of preparedness and intellectual maturity. It is difficult to convey to my students how lucky they are to be able to attend this school because it really does give them an advantage in their future schooling. After working as an electrical engineer for eight years, my wife and I moved back to Thibodaux. My decision to become a teacher and coach at E. D. White is a testament to those who molded me as a student when I was here. It is a gift to be able to teach my students and prepare them for the future while also strengthening their Catholic faith, and I look forward to one day sending my children here so that they can become a part of the E. D. White family.”

“When I graduated from EDW in 2002, I assumed I was closing the book on a brief but wonderful chapter of my life. I continued on to college and graduate school, and then began working as a public librarian. Shortly after getting married, my husband and I moved across the country, and I became a Catholic school librarian. Little did I know that this would plant the seed for what was to come. Upon returning home to Thibodaux, new baby in tow, my family explored the possibilities of continuing to work in a school setting. “Returning to my nest,” has been one of the greatest joys in my professional and spiritual life. I spend my days doing what I truly love: augmenting students’ education through research and studying, all within the construct of my Catholic faith. I realize the importance of the intellectual and spiritual development fostered at EDW, and deeply appreciate the sacrifices my parents made for me to attend. I can see this work continuing with the current faculty and staff, of which I am blessed to be a part.
